Erik is an award-winning journalist and producer based in Los Angeles. Previously, he was Sr. Video Journalist for The New York Times in New York City and Berlin and West Coast Video Correspondent for Quartz. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Quartz, Scientific American, Popular Science, Great Big Story (CNN), National Geographic, BBC, Undark, Hakai Magazine, and Business Insider. He has spent weeks at sea with some of the world's top oceanographic institutions and once dove to over 2000 feet in a submersible.
He shoots, writes, edits, and narrates video stories, usually about science. He also writes articles and shoots photos (often of things underwater or from the air).
